A select Vets side of Golden Oldies recently played the SUFC under 14`s in an eagerly contested Charity Match.
Despite the Vets early score they soon succumbed to the energetic and more athletic youngsters who found themselves 3-1 up at half time.
Some shrewd half time substitutions saw the vets take command of the second half, this despite a breakaway goal late on by the U14`s.
The final whistle was blown at 4-4 after a full 90 minutes of football.
A penalty shoot out brought the match to a final conclusion with the under 14`s running out winners 11 – 10
All proceeds were donated to the Prostrate Cancer charity
Send Under 13s Win Division 3 League Title
……..with still two league matches to play until the end of the Season our Under 13`s have Won the SPL Division 3 Title.

Send Utd U 9’s entered into the weekend Comic Relief fun with two matches held at St Bedes School on Saturday morning.
Amidst a flurry of red wigs and distinctly dodgy dresses, the first game saw the Mum’s give the Dad’s a lesson in how to judge the perfect tackle, but the referee seemed to miss the obvious hand ball offences, and the game ended in an entertaining 1-1 draw.
The Kids v Dad’s game was next, and in a no holds barred encounter the elder statesmen were lucky to scrape a 2-2 draw and finish the game with all lower limbs intact.
The main aim of course was to raise money for Comic Relief, and with the aid of a £50 contribution from Send Utd. FC, the event, organised by Anne Nicholls, raised a grand total of £175. A big thank you to all who took part.

Boxing Day
SEND UNITED XI team that turned out on Boxing Day Morning to play an AW select eleven….
The team consisted of varying ages from 9 – 40 some-things (Colin)
Unfortunately we must report that we were beaten 5-1, although we did have a goal disallowed following a dubious off side decision.
